Above, Cornell assistant coach, Mike Blaine tweets that the Big Red received a visit on Monday from former Cornell head coach, Tom Miller. Below, some Tuesday news and notes...
- Penn senior, Andreas Schreiber told the Daily Pennsylvanian that his second most memorable moment in his Penn basketball career was the win "over #16 ranked Cornell last year. Even though I was hurt and didn't play in it, it was the most emotional win I've ever been a part of. I think everyone who was at that game would agree. Even President Gutmann was emotional in the locker room."
- The Associated Press (via Boston Globe) writes of Temple's NCAA position, "The Owls are the favored seed for the second straight year, having lost to No. 12 Cornell last year [in the first round]."
- Previewing the Belmont-Wisconsin first round game in the NCAA Tournament, the Score.com writes, " It?s worth realizing that Wisconsin, as a No. 4 seed last year, barely escaped 13th-seeded Wofford in the first round and then got drilled by No. 12 seed Cornell in the second round."
- A Purdue blog, JumboHeroes writes of Wisconsin, " I know, I know, Wisconsin likes to underachieve. I get that. Isn?t Belmont the same as Cornell was last year? Kind of. They do have a bunch of guys that are crazy from beyond the arc. The difference? Belmont has one Senior that plays relevant minutes. I think Cornell had 7?"
- OnlineBasketballBetting.net makes a big error when it writes, "It was just last year when Kentucky dispatched of another Ivy League Cinderella hopeful, Cornell, in the opening round, 62-45." While Kentucky did defeat Cornell, it was not in the opening round of the Tournament, but rather in the regionals, the Sweet 16.
