The April Fool's issue of the Cornell Daily Sun (above) reports the Big Red earning an Elite Eight banner after an NCAA discovery of recruiting violations at Kentucky, Cornell's Sweet Sixteen opponent from 2010. Below, some news and notes...- In NBA D-League action last night, the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants lost a critical game 105-100 at the Maine Red Claws. Cornell's Ryan Wittman ('10) finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist on 6/18 FGs and 4/13 from beyond the arc.
- Cornell's 2011-2012 schedule was essentially completed this week with some limited formalities remaining in the signing of the contracts. Cornell will appear in 28 games in 2011-2012. The Big Red were ineligible for a multi-team event ("MTE") this year after appearing in MTEs in back-to-back years in 2009 (Preseason NIT) and 2010 (Legends Classic).
