News and Notes: Captains Named

Below, some early evening news and notes...
  • The Big Red have named their tri-captains for the year: Aaron Osgood, Adam Wire and Chris Wroblewski. Speaking of Wire and Osgood, the two seniors need to win 17 games this season to become the graduating class with the most all time wins in program history. A 16 win season would tie them with last season's seniors, the class of '10.
  • The Troy Record writes, "[Albany] opens the season against the Big Red, a team that advanced all the way to the Sweet 16, a season ago. 'It should be a really good test for us,' said sophomore point guard Mike Black... While the first game against Cornell is a big one, some of the other big non-conference highlights are games at Xavier (Dec. 28) and next Wednesday?s matchup against ACC foe Georgia Tech (Nov. 17)."
  • Kyle Whelliston of MidMajority.com writes, "Tomorrow, Friday, we'll be leaving town again, for the seventh time. After a brief detour up to New Hampshire to leave the cats at the Cat Farm for the winter, and the first chat of Season 7 at 4 pm Eastern, we'll go west for game number one, Cornell at Albany."
