The trip to Madison, Wisc. was the first real road test of the season for the talented youngsters on N.C. State. It did not go well.Wisconsin was way too much for the Wolfpack, and the Badgers coasted to a 87-48 win at the Kohl Center in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge matchup.
The turning moment -- and it was a long one -- in the game proved to be an extended scoring drought for N.C. State (4-2). In fact, the game was relatively close in the first half when N.C. State scored with 6:40 remaining to cut the lead to eight. But Wisconsin went on a 15-0 run to close out the half.
The next Wolfpack bucket came three minutes and 30 seconds into the second half, at which point they trailed 52-23. For all intents and purposes, the game was long over.
