CLEVELAND -- The Pittsburgh Steelers put an emphatic stamp on the AFC North title Sunday, and for about the 83rd time in the past decade, showed the Cleveland Browns how very far they are from being a legitimate NFL team. The Steelers arrived in Cleveland well aware they needed to win to secure the division championship. They did it handily, winning 41-9 in a game that was nowhere close to that close.
"Mission accomplished," coach Mike Tomlin said after his Steelers won the division with a 12-4 record.
"Everybody knew what was on the line," veteran linebacker James Farrior said. "There was no let-up on this one."
No there was not. It was a humiliating loss for the Browns, who finished 5-11 -- giving Eric Mangini the exact same record he had his first year. All week, the Browns acted as if they would love to ruin Pittsburgh's playoff position. But come game time, they played like their minds were in Aruba.
