Wroblewski Player of the Week

Chris Wroblewski of Cornell is the Ivy League Player of the Week. The Ivy Office writes:

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The non-conference schedules for Ivy League men?s basketball teams are winding down as the calendar has turned to 2011 with 12 out-of-league games on the slate this week and the first conference matchup of the season with Dartmouth hosting Harvard.

Penn has the Ivy League?s lone television appearance of the week, traveling to Rupp Arena to take on Kentucky on ESPNU. Before jumping into its first conference game, Harvard will also have a tough test this week taking on Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Eagles, coached by former Cornell head coach Steve Donahue, lost to Yale earlier this season but have won eight of their last nine and are coming off at win at South Carolina on New Year?s Day.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cornell junior guard Chris Wroblewski (Highland Park, Ill.) was sensational for the Big Red in the Richmond Marriott Holidays on the Hardwood Tournament at VCU. In the win over defending Southern Conference champion Wofford, Wroblewski scored 21 points and dished 12 assists, the second-most single-game assists total in school history. He added five rebounds and hit all four of his attempts from 3-point range in directing an offense that shot 64 percent from the floor and 71 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Wroblewski opened the week with 14 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in a two-point loss to New Hampshire.
